Year 9 and 10 allows students to spend more time in their areas of interests through participation in one of our Academies. Each Academy has seven lessons allocated where students are able to engage in their learning through their area of passion or interest. The Academies incorporate History into their curriculum, focusing on building historical skills through the lens of the Academy area.
This year, we currently have seven Academies; Health and Physical Education, Music, Metal Engineering, Wood work, Hospitality, Visual Art and Agriculture. On the years where students have the opportunity to be part of a whole school production, a Drama Academy will also run.
Core classes are grouped into one extension class and the other students evenly spread across the other classes. This class design allows all student the ability to have targeted support for individual student learning.
